My personal meaning (you could see it differently and that's completely valid) : To me, 2020 feels like a ruined party, a sudden reality check, the initial shot is the only one with multiple people in it, having fun together, because I haven't met my friends since February. The longest shot is the music and art one, because I'm constantly trying to fill my days up with both of those. But suddenly it all crashes down to a reality check of feeling absolutely morbid as you stare down at your food. What follows next is destruction, of the world by the world (volcano), of the world by the self (top left burning), and destruction of the self (smoking), all of which has been something I've been absorbing constantly and what 2020 feels like. All this tension reaches a breaking point, and that's where I am most days. The part after that is my hope, that I'll someday have the same calm and composed feeling evoked there and that I'll feel okay again, an ode to hope. Made possible due to pexels.com & freesound.org.
